One of the advantages of having a small, intimate wedding, is that you have the opportunity to do something truly unique for your invitations. I teamed up with Tangerine Calligraphy to create this beautiful hand-lettered invitation suite for Nacole and Nick. The watery blue ink gave the effect of ocean waters on Rossi Medioevalis deckled edge cards. Later, the placecards, tags for welcome baskets, and the menus were made to match.

I was honored to be a guest at our good friends Justine and Matt's wedding over Labor Day weekend. Congratulations guys! It was a beautiful evening ceremony and reception at the historic Garfield Park Conservatory, on Chicago's west side. Below are screen grabs from their custom wedding website that {SMD} designed and built for them. The website followed the design of their letterpress stationery and introduced the wedding theme of vintage Chicago by using postcard images showing the locations of the weekend's events. Designing a custom wedding website is a clean and sophisticated alternative to the templated wedding websites out there.

Swirls of bright pink and summery green (the couple's color palette) adorn the invitation, response postcard and directions enclosure. The package is neatly tucked into a pink-lined envelope.

I just delivered Jesica and Joshua's wedding invitation set. Three cards, all adorned with tulips, wrapped up in a bellyband stamped with the number ten (they are getting married on their 10th anniversary together), and neatly tucked into a gold-lined envelope. The entire set was letterpress printed with black ink on pearl white Crane's lettra.

yay madison!

I'm teaming up with my wonderful sister-in-law, Carissa Mangerson, in Madison. After 5 years in San Francisco (many of those years in the wedding invitation industry), she just moved back to her homestate with her adorable family. Now we have the pleasure of meeting with New York City and Madison residents to discuss our custom wedding design services, invitations, and announcements. (If you are not in the Madison or Brooklyn area, don't fret, I've worked with plenty of long-distance brides!)

Carissa co-hosted a beautiful open house in Madison at Azena Photography's Studio with Hillary Shave on Friday, September 24th, complete with wine, champagne, and hors d'oeuvres. We're sure to have more events in the future, and we will let you know about them here.
